The only guide you’ll need for 2017’s UK Summer festivals

Can’t wait for this Summer’s festivals? Neither can we!

We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know about this year’s hottest festivals.

Whether you are into pop, rock or hip-hop, the UK is definitely one of the best places to be spending your Summer in if you are a music fan.

‘There’s more to music festivals than music’ you say, so we analysed prices, accommodation, the weather and the bands, of course.

You’re welcome!

#1 Wireless Festival needs to come first on our list.

Not only is Wireless the first festival to happen every year, it’s the best one to happen in London (Sorry Hyde Park Summer).

It’s usually pretty sunny, not to mention the line-up. This year you can watch Bryson Tiller, G-Eazy, Chance The Rapper, Stormzy, etc. Through the course of three days you get to see the hottest rappers and pop stars right now.

The festival doesn’t have any camping available, even if you’re a 3-day ticket holder but since it’s in the heart of London, there’s plenty of nightclubs and cool places to go after and continue partying.

A bit of Wireless in your life is exactly what you need to kick off Summer just in the right way.

Wirelss Festival - 7th to the 9th of July.

Weekend tickets: £160.

Single tickets at: £62.

If rappers aren’t you’re thing, you’re more into straight pop, partying with people twice your age and going to bed early, there’s also

#2 British Summer Time in Hyde Park.

It’s more family orientated and ridiculously priced for what it is.

This year’s biggest star is Justin Bieber.

The only problem is, after his disastrous headlining sets at just about every single festival he played last year, we wouldn’t want to waste our money on seeing him. EDM’s new golden boy Martin Garrix is also on the bill, but is he worth £73? Maybe yes, maybe not. So we’ll just have to say: procced at your own risk on this one.

British Summer Time - 30th June to the 9th of July.

Single day tickets: £73.

Continuing in the pop vibe, but at a much better level, we have #3 V Festival.

This year’s line-up includes Jay-Z, Pink, Craig David, Anne-Marie and many more.

There’s also two locations to choose from: Hyland Parks and Weston Park, so you can choose which one to go to depending on which is closest to you. So handy!

Camping at V is also really fun. There’s a mini amusement park between the camping site and the festival grounds and lots of mini tents where you can get your hair done with glitter or even a fake tattoo.

There’s a high probability that, if you decide to go to V, your friends will call you ‘basic’… the solution for this is convincing them to be ‘extra’ and join you ;)

V Festival - 19th and 20th of August.

Weekend tickets with camping: £189.

Single tickets: £89.

#4 Creamfields is about as close as we’ll ever get to having an Ultra Music Festival in the UK. No need for despair though, our version isn’t too shabby.

This year we’ll be graced with all of EDM’s royalty: Hardwell, Armin Van Buuren, Axwell and Ingross, Martin Garrix (Creamfields is a way better option if you want to see him play live), Tiesto, just to name a few.

Don’t expect to actually sleep if you’re thinking of getting a camping pass at Creamfields. The festival is not particularly known for condoning drugs so the after parties are loud and usually last way into the first rays on day light.

You won’t get any sleep but, as the saying goes, you can sleep when you’re dead.

Alva Borgstrom, 21 said: ‘Creamfields is the craziest festival. I went three years ago for the first time and it keeps getting better. I can’t wait to go this year’.

Creamfields - 24th to the 27th of August.

4-days-ticket: £230.

single tickets: £85.

We know there’s not a lot that compares to the buzz you get from seeing your favourite rock bands play live. They’re loud, exciting, and unpredictable, some of the best ingredients to an awesome Summer.

You’ll probably need some wellies for this one…

Next up on the list is #5 Glastonbury Festival.

Even though die-hard Glastonbury fans have deemed it too commercial after having Adele and Beyoncé as headliners – it is still the biggest festival in the UK and totally worth the (pretty expensive) ticket price.

This year’s line-up includes The Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran, Royal Blood, Biffy Clyro, The XX… crazy, right?

There’s more than one hundred stages, and the now famous Left Fields: a stage focused on politics and music.

Last year, festival goers received the news about the Brexit vote on the Left Fields stage. This year promises to be filled with artists yarning to take action through their music. Billy Bragg even got his favourite acts on the bill.

If you’re still mad about the Brexit result, Glastonbury is definitely the place to let your anger out whilst having fun.

Ricardo Silva, 24 said: ‘I came from Portugal last year to see Coldplay headline and it was the best money I ever spent. There’s so much to see and experience. Glastonbury is definitely the best festival in the world’.

Glastonbury - 21st to the 25th of June.

Festival tickets at £238.

Last but not least, if it’s pure pop rock fun you’re after, #6 Reading and Leeds Festival will be your paradise.

Like V Festival, it happens in two separate locations making it super easy for you.

It’s crazy, harmless fun and cool.

Expect: the bands you used to like when you were 10 and going through your EMO phase, and the bands that started last year and are hungry to please.

Reading and Leeds is for all of us that want to remain kids forever, at least once a year.

Reading and Leeds Festival - 25th to the 27th of August.

Weekend tickets: £213.

Single tickets: £72.
